Shepherds present two new candidates

BridgePointe’s leadership structure is a leadership team model: we have a staff team, an administrative leadership team, an outreach leadership team, and at the top sits the shepherd team. The shepherds fulfill the role of spiritual leaders that lead and love, provide for and protect the church.

Three of the original group of shepherds appointed in 2018 are stepping down from their position and the shepherds are presenting Dave Halligan and Mark Medieros as new candidates.  Jared is sending an all church email on Wednesday with background and more information, and this post will be updated then.

The shepherds hope to appoint Dave and Mark to the team on Sunday, January 29th.  We asked Dave and Mark to share a little bit about themselves and why they want to be shepherds. Read their statements below and look for more to come this week.

Pam and I came to BridgePointe three years ago from a church plant in Providence for the inner city and overcomers originally started in the Providence Rescue Mission. Our time at BridgePointe has been a short sabbatical in which we were waiting on the leading of the Holy Spirit for our next ministry.

In His grace and generosity, God has given us rest and sustenance and now has given us this invitation to serve as shepherd for this flock. We have been blessed by the teaching and fellowship at BridgePointe and look forward to allowing God to use us in service to our pastor and this body of believers we call family.

Mark Medeiros

My family has been serving in BP Kids for about six years because we love teaching these precious children about the Lord and investing in their lives. I also currently attend a men’s small group on Monday nights with a wonderful group of men who love the Lord deeply.

My family is extremely thankful to the Lord for BridgePointe and the many wonderful people whom we have met through the years. It is a great blessing to be part of a church family that genuinely loves the Lord and other people, too. Like so many people in this church family, I want to be faithful to use the spiritual gifts that the Lord has given me to do my part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As a BP shepherd, I will do my best (through the Holy Spirit’s leading) to love, protect, encourage and help equip this church family so that we may all glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with our lives.
