Groups Ministry Overview
Groups are relational environments that help people to grow as disciples who follow Jesus, love others, and make more disciples. We have three kinds of groups to enable people to select the environment that is best for them:
- Small Groups – These groups gather weekly to have fun and build relationships while growing as disciples who follow Jesus, love others, and make more disciples. They meet in homes, coffee shops, or at BridgePointe.
- Classes – Classes are short-term groups that meet weekly for a month or two to explore one topic. Classes are for adults of all ages, stages of life, spiritual maturity and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Recovery – BridgePointe’s Recovery group meets to help individuals relinquish control and rely on Jesus in areas of addiction. It functions much like an AA meeting but introduces Jesus into your story. This is for anyone with hurts, habits, or hang-ups and everyone is welcome. This group meets on Monday nights from 6-7:30 pm.
What it takes to be a group leader:
We believe people’s lives are changed one at a time by moving one step toward Christ, and as a small group leader you get to play an important role in that process. You don't need to have all the answers to be a small group leader. If you can help guide conversation and help engage people in reading the Bible and apply it to their lives, you're on your way.
Small Group Leaders help people find biblical community by creating an environment where people are welcome and accepted, encounter Jesus and His Word, make disciples and multiply groups. As a leader, you will facilitate discussion through sermon-based study and encourage group life through reading the Word, prayer, community, and service.
