Giving FAQ

Why Give?

We practice generosity because God has been generous to us. God's generosity has most powerfully been demonstrated in His gift to us in Jesus. (2 Corinthians 8:9)

Through generosity, we demonstrate our love for God by giving Him something that is valuable to us. Matthew 6:21 says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." So by giving God our treasure, we are ensuring that he has our heart as well.

Everything belongs to God. He has given us the talents, abilities, and opportunities to earn money. Generosity is a way to use God's resources, which He entrusted to us, for His purposes.

What is the benefit of recurring online giving?

Generosity should be a consistent part of our financial stewardship. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Recurring online giving is the easiest way to "decide in your heart" what to give and stick with it. This will increase your trust in God as you make giving a priority within your budget.
